Distinction panel (DPAGB)
Dawn, Marsden rocks, Northumberland
Ayr Photographic Society Print of the year 2008
Exhibited at the Scottish Photographic Salon 2008
This image was taken on a photography workshop with Lee Frost in September 2007. We arrived at our location at about 6am and awaited sunrise. I liked the composition with the forground rocks leading to the seastack (known as Pompey's pillar). I took a series of images, but for me this was the most dramatic with the first light of day spilling onto the foreground. I used a 3 stop ND filter to balance contrast.
